Description — General:
A 20-30 seconds abstract animation using a soundtrack and visual style of your choice. The purpose of the project is to practice working with keyframes and transform properties — I recommend keeping your design simple and focusing on the motion.
Description — Part 1:
Choose 20-30 seconds of a soundtrack you'd like to work with. Create rough thumbnail sketches (small, quick, messy storyboards) that illustrate the progression of your visuals. You should have at least 10 frames sketched.
Scan or photograph your sketches, separate the shots into individual files, import them into After Effects, and roughly time the sketches to the music. This will be your animatic. You will use it as a guide for the actual animation.
Render the animatic, upload to Vimeo and send me your link. Bring the After Effects and asset files to class.
